Alessandro Annoscia, Head of Data and Architecture at MN8 Energy, on building the data foundation for an AI-driven renewable energy producer.
“A signal comes out of a sensor, and that signal becomes the basis for all of our information: our revenue, our production numbers, our performance, everything.”
For MN8 Energy, one of the largest independent renewable energy producers in the United States, data is the business itself. Every operational and financial number starts as a reading from the field.

Managing the full renewable lifecycle
As an independent operator, MN8 Energy buys and manages renewable projects across their whole lifecycle, from land selection through to production. Each stage generates its own data, in its own structures. Bringing those sources together reliably is a core operational requirement, not a back-office task.
To lead that integration, MN8 Energy partnered with InnoWave.
A golden architecture for the industry
The ask was simple and ambitious. MN8 Energy wanted more than a working data platform. It wanted a reference model for the sector.
“We needed, and we wanted, a golden architecture that could be a showcase for the rest of the industry. And the reason is that we want this industry to have the highest standards.”
Beyond organized data: a disciplined path to AI
For MN8 Energy, clean data is the starting point. The real goal is a disciplined approach to artificial intelligence: using every data source, building intelligent processes that capture data, and using that foundation to power an agentic enterprise that runs the company in a highly automated way.
The results
InnoWave implemented the golden architecture and integrated MN8 Energy’s datasets. Today, the company’s critical data is standardized and normalized in a single data lake, ready to support the next stage of automation.
“It is now becoming obvious to us that our dream of creating a self-running energy producer is getting close.”
Alessandro credits the outcome to the partnership itself and to the framework InnoWave built:
“All of the important data has been standardized and normalized in our data lake, thanks to the strong partnership we have with InnoWave and the great framework they built for us.”
