On Saturday (Sep 23rd) we had our Beach Cleaning activity in OPorto and we were able to collect a lot of trash that was left on Matosinhos Beach!
The weather was great, but we started early so we managed to do most of the work while the beach was not yet full.
Not only were we able to collect diverse items that did not belong to the beach, but also contributed to the awareness of those on the beach and hopefully to their adoption of correct environmental behaviours. We gathered several items, including plastic bottles, food boxes, plastic packages and bottle caps, but the day’s winner was the famous cigarette. We keep working to raise awareness on the importance of keeping these areas clean and we hope this action had a greater impact on everyone who saw us cleaning the beach!
It was a delightful morning as we could share a nice moment with our colleagues while contributing to a cleaner planet!
